Any of you have an impatient partner?

How do you deal with them?
Not impatient with kids but gets irritated when things don't go right eg diy/ lateness etcetera.
No other offensive trait but it's beginning to grate and I won't be walking on egg shellls ever again after a marriage to a moody, short tempered man.
This man is neither but definitely impatient.

Yes & more besides. But he was diagnosed with Aspergers recently. At the age of 47. Surprise. It's very, very fucking wearing. My sympathies.

The only constructive suggestion I can think of is to sit down at a time when neither of you are stressed or busy & the kids aren't around, & talk to him about how his impatience affects you. i.e that it's beginning to grate and upset you, & you don't want to feel like you're walking on eggshells or how you did in our last marriage ever again. How is he with understanding your feelings and communication in general?

I can be impatient too, & used to be much worse, but it's definitely something I've worked on and am always working on. It's not something unstoppable.

Communication skills are generally excellent. He like me believes in putting everything out on the table so to speak so good advice thanks.
I also was impatient but age has definitely
Mellowed me.
I am by no means perfect so am sensitive to this but at the same time, I never want to go through the anxious feelings of walking on eggshells again.

Have you had a conversation about it, and told him how it makes you feel? If so, what did he say in response? If not, why not?

If you've not told him, it's not really fair. Different people have different levels, he might just be used to being around people with similar levels to him, and assume it's not bothering you. You have to give him a fighting chance.

Yeah, my oh has adhd. He's been told clearly though that his impatience is his issue and I won't and don't tip toe around him.
