After 20 years of giving in to DH?s excessive clinginess ? he would like us to spend every leisure moment together and takes it as a personal insult if I try to arrange an outing with a friend or one of the DCs which ?excludes? him, or travel to visit my family alone ? I am finally beginning to stand up for myself. He meets this with requests for us to ?talk?, which means him bending my ear for hours with hysterical begging, vague threats and demands for me to leave, but five minutes afterwards he is full of cloying affection and making plans for six months ahead as if nothing has happened. This really freaked me out at first, but I am getting better at just hanging on and sticking to my point. Has anyone else experienced this kind of schizophrenic behaviour? Any guess about which one is the real man?

I don't have any experience of this - I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along in a mo - but sounds a bit like some sort of bi-polar disorder maybe.

sounds insanely jealous, clingy and immature..after 20 years you must be worn out... was he cheated on in the past? does he have trust issues with others, i.e friends and other family members? or is it just with you?
