I was just wondering If any of you guys ever seem to have 'frumpy' days and if so how you managed to get around it?

tia.

DillyDally · 15/11/2004 13:39

I never used to feel frumpy but then I went to a course and someone asked me how old my baby was..I said 15 months and he said a teenager hey? He had misheard and now thinks I am old enough to have a 15yr old.
I need new clothes and a makeover.

PicadillyCircus · 15/11/2004 13:40

I feel frumpy sometimes.

Have been being a bit better recently and making an effort to wear more "shapely" clothes .

But overall still feel frumpy even though DH tells me I am lovely

I'm a frumpalump

and the frumpalump frumped ... Frump

Flum · 15/11/2004 13:53

Frump question - yes, INSTA-FRUMP after baby. Too fat for clothes, can't accept fatness so not bought new clothes. One pair jeans and scraggy t-shirts. YUK.

For work, tweed dresses, twin sets - well frumpy but v. a la mode - I call it my Governess look.

Jellyhead - are you named after Jellyhead in Viz - She was great!!! 'If only jelly head could get to the phone......'

heres a deal T - i'll say you're not really all that frumpy, if you say I'm not really all that frumpy

lavender2 · 15/11/2004 13:57

not now that I wear suits and things for work each day...(last job very much did)

collision · 15/11/2004 14:02

The prob is that it takes time to look decent which a lot of us probably dont have time for. It is much easier to get up, slap hair back, stick on some tracky bottoms and be done for the day!! Nice and comfy......no effort and if you get glue, sick, banana down yourself then it doesnt matter.

To make yourself feel good takes effort but when I do I feel SO much better. To look good takes me about 40 mins which includes shower, straightening hair and makeup. I do need some new clothes but am waiting til I come to the UK to buy some in March.

I wish I had that 'sexy, just got out of bed look' but I truly dont!

MummyToSteven · 15/11/2004 14:03

do you do an office job now Lavender 2 - bit of a change from your old job!

lavender2 · 15/11/2004 14:05

er no not exactly I work in a local Post Office with one other person, The Owner..

Yep, sure do. I don't have a full length mirror so don't really know what I look like from the shoulders down. DH is no help at all cos ,bless him, fashion has totally passed him by and if I ask him how I look he just says 'all right'! He just says he loves me whatever i look like, which is very sweet but doesn't help when you want to go out without looking like a total granny! I get better sense out of dd and she only 2.9!

spacemonkey · 15/11/2004 14:22

I don't know about frumpy but I was getting some very strange looks on the tube today. Had to get my mirror out and check to see if I had a huge bogey on my face but it all looked ok to me. When I got home I checked the back of my jacket to see if someone had written WANKER on there in chalk or similar.

lou33 · 15/11/2004 14:24

MummyToSteven · 15/11/2004 14:28

nikkichik, snap. think dh would be happy if i wore a bin bag every day.

lou33 · 15/11/2004 14:33

were your tits out then?

spacemonkey · 15/11/2004 14:34

i did wonder if a bird had shat on my head without my noticing

honeybunny · 15/11/2004 14:39

Daily at the moment, being 36 going on 37 weeks pg. I'm bored with my elasticated black trousers and I'm permanently showing an expanse of midriff as nothing is long enough in the body to go over and stay over my bump. Its been damn chilly the last couple of days. I want to go back to my heels and fitted clothes please, right now!

And I'm dreading that deflated balloon look that my stomach will be in 3weeks time.....still at least I'll be cooing at my new little babe, fingers and toes crossed!
