Am I a freak of nature?

Just wondering because I've been through the menopause and still have a good sexual appetite and love to sexually please my husband- I mean obviously I have sex because I enjoy it to but all you seem to hear about is how menopause makes women cut all intimacy off

God menopause has also made some of you sour as anything

Hmm yeah you sound like a genuine woman not a hairy handed male at all Hmm

Pinkbucket · 31/10/2021 20:28

@amiafreakofnature

Hardly that ffs I just wanted to know if anyone else was the same I feel something of an oddity! God menopause has also made some of you sour as anything
You seem determined to label women who have been through menopause First they are sexless and dried uo and now they are sour Smile Perhaps you really have some pretty deep insecurities about the fact you are menopausal and should talk to somebody about that Most of us are pretty damn happy and more empowered than ever . Many would like a ex WiTH the right man Maybe leave your judgements and biases about other woman at the door
TripleSeptic · 31/10/2021 20:33

How long since your surgery, if you don't mind me asking?

Hardly that ffs I just wanted to know if anyone else was the same I feel something of an oddity! God menopause has also made some of you sour as anything Your OP read to me as if you're pretending you feel like a "freak" so you could almost brag to other menopausal women that you have a sex drive but most of them won't.

The "sour" comment made me think you're most likely a misogynistic man who is looking for stories of women's sex lives. I'm late 20s and haven't started the menopause yet. I don't think any of the posters here sounded sour I think you're just angry the thread hasn't gone the way you hoped.

Sour and sexless. Aren't we great! If only we could be like you!

I am 66. Periods stopped at 49. Not on any medication for anything. Still the same as ever although sex is not high on my agenda these days. I am still interested though :)

What were you expecting - a standing ovaryvation? Huzzah for you. You have sex. Have a Tufty Badge.

@AnaViaSalamanca

Freak of nature? Yes, but only because you sound like a troll.

You can google for this info a lot easier than collecting anecdotes from women.

I’m dead lol!!! 🤣😵

I snorted a loud piggy snort of laughter. Thank you!

😂😂😂😂😂

Op, you may be having lots of sex but your libido may be sky high, but it looks like your mood hasn’t been unaffected, or are you always so snappy and judgy. Or as others have suggested are you a bloke? 🤔

Kintsugi16 · 01/11/2021 04:16

So you’re 41 and on HRT?

I’m not sure you’re in a position to judge tbh

doubleshotcappuccino · 01/11/2021 04:44

I'm 50 and no negative symptoms at all .. I keep waiting ..

doubleshotcappuccino · 01/11/2021 04:47

No hrt .. nothing .. but not a humble brave as my eyesight is so shocking now I ordered the same dress twice and I have to do my roots every fortnight so didn't get away scott free

Eyesight has got worse but I thought that was just age. I've started thinking about hair dye but not sure if I should do it.

I have aged in terms of looks, but no other symptoms. I've lost weight which probably makes me look old older

mccalenterprise · 01/11/2021 11:40

OP FWIW I remember reading that there's a theory that loss of libido during menopause has more to do with the balance of testosterone levels being disturbed by fluctuations in oestrogen. Maybe you have higher levels of testosterone naturally? One tell-tale sign is facial hair.

Prettyinpinky · 07/11/2021 13:19

Look at you 🙄🙄🙄
I wouldn’t temp fate thinking you are the unique one! We all think this at the beginning! It won’t affect me! I can handle this! No one chooses to have these horrible symptoms!

lynntheyresexpeople · 07/11/2021 13:23

Wow op, congratulations Hmm
What a goady thread.
And I haven't been through menopause yet, before you accuse me of being sour Confused

mpz731play · 07/11/2021 13:34

I wonder if what OP means when they say - all you seem to hear about is how menopause makes women cut all intimacy off is actually better described as 'all you seem to hear about from men is how menopause makes women cut all intimacy off'.
Menopause happens at the same time a man is likely to have a mid-life crisis. He looks at what he hasn't got or what he thinks he's missing out on, or he might simply need validation from a younger woman that he still 'has it'. When he strays, he has what he assumes to be the perfect excuse: 'well, my wife went off sex because she went through the menopause'. It's more likely to be that she withdrew from intimacy due to changes in his behaviour arising from his mid-life crisis.

Ahh, that makes sense! I’m 53, still peri menopausal, but my libido is raging. I do have an outstanding beard though.
Shehasadiamondinthesky · 07/11/2021 15:59

I'm dead from the neck down post menopause. I feel sick at just the thought of a man touching me.
Its not how I visualised my future but I'm making the best of it.

Now that makes sense as I am getting thick black hairs I need to keep plucking on my chin
