Too old?

Thinking about surprising Dh with something i know he loves but its something we havent done in ages. I'm 53 and while I know I dont need to do it to get his interest going I keep changing my mind as I worry I will look old and silly. Question is should I lessen the surprise by suggesting it first (he will certainly be surprised if I even suggest it)? No more details, just looking for general thoughts.

If you're able to do it, who gives a fuck what you look like? 53 isn't old, BTW!

Is it some kind of sex outfit??
I'm sure he will appreciate the gesture whatever it is.

Clandestin · 16/10/2021 16:07

As I read, my guess went from unusual sex acts to para-gliding.

LoekMa · 16/10/2021 16:08

Is it a lapdance? I dont know if you should first suggest it. Whatever you do though, make sure you feel confident and sexy while doing it, or dont bother.
The last thing you would want is to feel he was having to reassure you while youre doing whatever it is. If you need some liquid courage, go for it and best of luck Flowers

Presumably your dh loves you not a version of you that looks 21??
Go for it!
I am 50 and my teen dd's tell me I am not too old for anything!!
Hairbands included they say!!

Twobobsnob · 16/10/2021 17:14

He does love me as I am or I would not even consider it. Just a little bit of dressing up/down

I did once dress up in a saucy outfit (am about your age OP) for my OH and TBH while it didn't quite have the immediate desired effect, it brought a smile (of mirth!) to his face, he was very touched, and it certainly didn't put him off (once he'd stopped giggling).
I'd say give it a go - assuming he's a good chap who'll appreciate the thought and effort regardless of the results!

As another the same age I’m curious
Why was he giggling ? Was this something you had done before and had he always giggled ?

I think it would really thro my confidence if I went to this effort and h started giggling

HeddaGarbled · 16/10/2021 23:45

Are you emotionally robust enough to cope if he does laugh or appear taken aback momentarily?

Twobobsnob · 17/10/2021 10:47

Well I am very happy that I did that!

Feeling inspired by your post and a bit bored I did similar last night. It turned a bit of an annoyance at being asked before (not for a while though tbh) into something very very fun. I'm glad you shared.
