Bf's scatalogical humour driving me mad

NC for this.

My bf is a kind, genuine and thoughtful guy. After being in an abusive relationship I feel lucky to have met him and to be with someone who treats me so well. The only thing that really bothers me about him is his immature sense of humour - he thinks farting is funny etc or he will tell me when he is 'going for a poo' and I actually find it quite disgusting. I know some guys are like this but it just seems so juvenile to me. He knows it annoys me so now if he lets one slip he thinks it's funny because I get wound up. I am thinking of having a serious conversation with him to say that I do not find it funny and I actually find it disrespectful and inconsiderate. Is this a bit OTT though? Do I need to chill out and stop being uptight?

You just have incompatible senses of humours. You can ask him to change, and keep bringing it up, but I don't think it would make for a particularly good relationship if one party has to change their personality to appease the other.

I tell dp when I'm going for a poo, I think it's an ingrained habit from growing up in a large family with 1 bathroom, if you didn't announce your intentions you'd have someone tapping on the door 0.01 seconds later needing a wee!

I do find farting hilarious and grew up in a family where it was part of our culture. However, soon to be Dh grew up in a family where it just didn’t happen. I respect that and try and moderate my appreciation of wind, belching and announcing
toilet visits to a minimum. It would put me off if it was excessive tbh so I get it!
