Tell me to walk away

Friendship of roughly two years. I'm bipolar, he's a sex addict. Great combo, right? I'm his best friend apparently, we used to be fwb. He keeps bringing up our sexual past (v v v long over), which i ignore, but if i mention something innocuous like hugging he goes all weird, equivalent to suggesting a fuck with a stranger. Wth is going on?

He's a sex addict. Not a hugging addict.

For your own sake, walk away

Toooldtbthisidiot · 06/08/2021 00:56

Thanks @samwitwicky. Given we have a close friendship and talk daily i wanted to believe it was a respectful friendship, but i guess he's just looking for a hole to fill - literally and figuratively.

Unless you're breathlessly caught up in the drama of it, may as well walk away. You've had sex before, he wants to have sex with you again that's all it is. Odd basis for 'friendship' but there you go. If you don't want to have sex with him then leave him to his own devices

Bi polar here 🙋🏼‍♀️ this is toxic and you know it is. He's a head fuck that you don't need. Unless he's amazing in the sack and you can honestly and truly separate sex and feelings (really?) then you need to walk away x

Aquamarine1029 · 06/08/2021 01:16

Hate to burst your bubble, but he's never been your friend. He's a creepy, sex-obsessed twat. Ditch him.

Monty27 · 06/08/2021 01:18

OP walk away

EmeraldShamrock · 06/08/2021 01:20

He is using you and making you doubt your boundaries.
Get rid.

Maggiesfarm · 06/08/2021 01:39

If you are not happy with the relationship you don't have to continue seeing him. There are other fish in the sea.

Has he told you he is a 'sex addict' or is that your deduction, op? It's possible he is just a young chap with a high sex drive. Being a sex addict is something quite different. I read some books on the subject years ago and they were quite an eye opener, frankly they gave me the creeps and I am quite broad minded.

Toooldtbthisidiot · 06/08/2021 07:49

Thanks all, agreed!

@Maggiesfarm - he has told me this, his behaviour matches and he's been in SAA for a few months now.

Do the sensible thing, not the self-destructive thing. Look after your mental health and swerve this silliness.

This guy isn't a friend. He's certainly not the right friend.

Oh dear, that is well creepy. Get rid quick.
