This was my marriage. He wouldn't even wash my car, after demanding I cook him a roast dinner. I worked 4 days and he worked 6.

So now all the jobs are mine but I get a blissful day to myself each week to do most of it.

Life is so much better

DH - life admin, bins, dog walking, school run, some grocery shopping, about half of the cooking . Washes the glasses that don't go in dishwasher. Ferrying kids & my gran around!

Me - about half cooking & grocery shopping. Fill dishwasher. Laundry. Washing up. Kids' packed lunches. Daily vacuuming & tidying.

finishes he’ll hang it out/ bring it in
Ironing - Nobody if we can help it, me when
necessary
Changing beds - both of us
Baby bath time - him
Baby bed time - was always me, working on.
her settling with him some of
the time now
Night wakings (baby) - me
Night wakings (dog) - DH
Bins/ recycling - DH
Mow lawns - was DH, now pay gardener
DIY - neither of us we are both shit. Luckily
we have very handy family members

who we can call on (and pay back in
other ways!)
Replacing the toilet roll - me, apparently only
I can do it Angry

Admin stuff for the house generally DH, admin/ mental load stuff to do with the baby generally me - that’s horribly gendered actually thinking about it but it’s the way it’s fallen. We probably need to look at that as I’m definitely ‘default parent’ already and she’s not even 1 yet. Plus I should probably be more involved in household stuff.

Making any kind of appointment/phoning for a takeaway or taxi or generally anything that involves the phone is me - DH is apparently allergic to the phone despite being on it all day for work.
