Boyfriend and I got tipsy together for first time ...

And I would appreciate your thoughts..
We are together 9 months , mid forties , mad about each other , a few weekends and a week holiday booked for summer ( just for context)
Our history is that I am separated two years and he is my first relationship . His is that he broke up with his partner of six years two years ago.
We have bubbles through lockdown. It has been a great relationship to date. We are very happy, compatible in every way and a great sex life .
We got tipsy at the weekend and I'm trying to figure out my feelings .
We had great fun with friends and went to bed . He has told me previously that he gets very horny after drinking beer. No problem here!
But wow... he is a man of his word . He was horny all through the night and was very touchy feely. I loved it as it was quite rough but in a pleasurable way .
As the night went on into morning, I was getting tired but he couldn't have enough .
I stopped it, he was fine with that and we rolled over and went to sleep .
I'm not sure why I'm even on here . I think I just want to know if any of you have had this experience . He was still Merry when we got up.
He doesn't really drink alcohol and we had never been out socialising before .
I wasn't uncomfortable with it.. I loved the rough play but it was so out of character .
My marriage was essentially sexless and coercive when I felt I had to be intimate . I am absolutely thrilled to be in such a great and sexually fulfilling relationship , finally.
Help me unpick , please ?

Was he taking drugs?

ItsNotLoveActually · 10/05/2021 16:04

In my experience, it's not usual to want to continue all night and still be merry in the morning - quite the opposite!
I'd be worried about what would happen if I wasn't in the mood at all.
Only time will tell if it's a problem for you that you can't handle.

Sisisimone · 10/05/2021 16:05

Definitely coke or speed. Beer alone generally has the opposite effect.

MarshmallowAra · 10/05/2021 16:40

Good point, i did think it was a bit odd but drugs didn't occur to me.

A marathon sex sesh after just beer - and until the morning? Im wondering too if drugs were involved. 9 months is still very early days of getting to know a partner. Despite enjoying it I can understand why you feel uneasy.

lilithxx16 · 10/05/2021 17:07

Some men are stimulated like that by drinking. It doesn't mean drugs are involved so no need to panic. 😊

Sisisimone · 10/05/2021 17:44

When you say still merry the next morning what do you mean? Was he still bouncing off the walls? Because in your OP you say 'tipsy' which in my book is something my granny would describe herself after a couple of sherries. Whereas to be still drunk the next morning you would need to have had a skinfull. Most people after a few beers would sober up a bit after a sex session and want to get a bit of sleep. Hence the wondering whether other substances were involved

Drugs involved by the sound of it

TubeOfSmarties · 10/05/2021 18:13

You sound excited but like you have a niggle you should feel bad.

You had a night of inhibition free sex where you did things maybe you hadn't done before and enjoyed it. Yay for you, that is perfectly ok so long as you fully consented and you were safe.

If there's anything that in the cold light of day you feel unsure about, then talk to your partner about it. Tell him what you liked and what you didn't. If you enjoyed it as a "sometimes but not always" thing then keep it that way. It's about boundaries. Explore them, talk about them and make sure he respects them (and respect his too).
