I don't love my husband anymore

Almost 15 years together and 2 young DCs. We argue over the smallest things and I find that while he is a fantastic father, I no longer feel the love in this relationship. He helps out with DCs and is a devoted father. Think I will stay with him for the sake of DCs. Not sure what I am asking here, just want to share.

Is it fair to your kids to have to listen to you both argue over the smallest thing though?

Phoenix121 · 24/04/2021 15:50

Why do you think you argue? Has he changed? Have you?

litterbird · 24/04/2021 15:53

Don't underestimate how much the arguing affects how your children feel. I come from parents who bickered and argued throughout my childhood and it really affected how I look at relationships and maybe a part of the reason I never married. I saw marriage as a toxic soup of arguments and unhappiness. Leave and make sure your children grow up with happy parents apart and not toxic parents together "for the sake of the children"....it doesn't work.

Wise post.

OP, the damage to children hearing this is huge.

If your husband is a genuinely good father, he will not want this damage done to his children.

Arrange a quiet conversation when the children are in bed to talk about how things can be calmed down.

Marriage counselling to help you communicate better with each other, in a positive and respectful way will be invaluable irrespective of whether you stay in the marriage.

Tell him how unhappy you are and how the bickering is playing a part.

Bickering is such an annoying noise.
Think about your own part and how you can improve the atmosphere.

He can't bicker with himself if you don't engage.
