Is he into me? Should I act on it?

Hi all, I’m 24 and male and I work in a supermarket. I think one of my managers is into me, he is 31 and isn’t my line manager but we do work together a lot. I also know he is gay.

So the reason I’m not sure is because we message each other nearly every day, even outside of work and about non-work stuff. At work he always comes and chats to me whenever he’s in. We were in the office a couple of times and our legs touched under the desk and he didn’t move his leg, neither did I. He’s also touched my hands a couple of times.

Outside of work, he sends messages that could and have been taken as flirtatious. He talks about us going for a drive in his car and to wine bars.

He came round once for a drink and at the end of the night we walked out to his car. He got in and turned the engine on for the heating before getting back out to chat. I didn’t know whether he was wanting a hug or not.

What do people think?

Um yea it sounds as though he likes you. If you're in England, ask him if he fancies a drink in a beer garden next week.

That he is behaving unprofessionally and you should steer well clear. In fact I would go as far as to report a manager like this. He is overstepping the boundaries and you won't be the first or the last.

Sorry.

It sounds like he likes you but I'd be wary about acting on it. If it all goes horribly wrong, you have to continue to work with him and he's your manager. Too complicated and close to home!
