How it makes you feel

I read something once or someone told me ( can't remember which) that if someone says something abusive or does something abusive to you , that it's how it makes you feel what they've said or done to you .

Rather than them saying it's you and all your fault - or that you are mad/ weird or fucked up.

Am I correct or going completely mad.

@CeefBurry, you have missed something out of the first paragraph.

I think you are trying to say:
If someone has said something or done something to you that you feel is abusive, that them dismissing it as you being it's you and all your fault - or that you are mad/ weird or fucked up is abusive in itself.

Am I right?

Do you want to explain a ittle more op?

If someone has upset you, even if unintentionally and you tell them how it makes you feel, and they don’t care or try to turn it around and make it your fault or that you’re being over sensitive etc that tells you a lot about their character and is a sign that yes they could be abusive.
