Report him to the police, speak to Woman's Aid and get the hell away from him.

solutionneeded · 06/02/2021 21:08

Please call women's aid first to help you and put you in touch with the right people. Also report to the police if you can. There is help and a refuge isn't as bad as you think it will be. A refuge was great for me and they rehoused me.

Women’s Aid as soon as you can
You cannot live your life like this

bearlyactive · 06/02/2021 21:10

Women's Aid are your first port of call, they can help get you out of there OP.

He may not be drinking now but he will drink again. You do not have to put up with this. This isn't a healthy normal relationship. No one can tell you to leave only you can do that. Have you thought about attending an al anon meeting or phoning a helpline for advice? If you want to leave you can and will and there is help out there. My thoughts and good wishes are with you.

It sounds like a police matter really.

he's not the sort of man you want around a newborn.

category12 · 06/02/2021 21:47

Strangling is one of the predictors of lethal violence in domestic abuse situations.

He could so easily kill you without setting out to do so, by strangling or choking you. Please read this www.thehotline.org/resources/the-dangers-of-strangulation/

You really need to leave this man. By staying you run the risk of leaving your child motherless.

You've had such a tough start in life, you really deserve better in your relationships. You have a chance to give your dd better than you had growing up, but not with this man.
