Harassment and cyber bullying

Do the police actually take this seriously?

My friend is being harassed by a group of girls (in their 20's) she has to face one in particular. The awful messages are constant, awful. They have been plastering pictures of my friend on social media with awful lies about her. She has ignored, she has reported to the police, it's getting worse because she is ignoring it.

I'd report to the police, their employers, their parents, I'd send a solicitors letter and look into suing them. She needs to tell everybody.

Bullies escalate until they're shut down. If everybody around them knows what they're doing and she gets the law involved, they will likely face social consequences from people around them telling them to stop.

She also needs to have people on her side calling everybody up to complain about their employee/kid/sister/friend etc.

Bullies thrive in in silence when nobody else is looking.

Yes!! My friend was harassed online by an ex and the police became involved, it stopped.
Get screen shots of everything
Take the screenshots to the employer, I have dealt with employee bullying outside the work place. It can be dealt with by the employer although they may say they can't be involved, they can as it's likely to be brought into the workplace too!
Also agree with parents if you can. Even at 20 if I was made aware of my child being a bully I'd be hitting the roof.
She must stand up for herself and make it stop.
