I've name changed for this because I just don't want it linked to previous posts.

I just wanted to put it out there. I don't know why. I need it off my chest I guess.

I wish I had never married my husband. I wish I had known back then that it is better to be alone than unhappy.

I stay because of our child. Because I don't want to be a part time patent. He's not abusive so thats a positive I suppose.

I don't know if my life would have been any better. Probably not.. who knows.

My ex had an affair and I stayed for another 3 years to try and make it work for our dc, I should have left there and then, and not wasted a further 3 years on him

I stayed 10 years longer than I should, I liked my life, didn't want to give up my lovely home etc and felt splitting was quitting. 10 years later he left me and I felt all the years I put up with crap for the kids was for nothing. I've met an amazing man who did pretty much the same and I do feel cheated that we cannot have children etc together because we met too old. Don't rush to act, but don't stay together for dc you deserve better.

Ps after we told dd we had split up she said to me (once her dad was elsewhere in the house) why didn't you leave 10 years ago?

OP I'm with you here. Sitting here at 4am in tears about the thought of telling the DCs and having to say goodbye to them every other weekend. Scared of leaving a comfortable life for a financial struggle. My H is a lovely kind man, so many reasons to stay. Wish I could stay or leave in confidence with no regrets. I just don't know I can bear the guilt of changing so many lives :(
I'm sorry you're going through this too

Life is both too long and too short for this.

Stay and you know exactly what you're getting.

Leave, and it'll be harder in some ways but you'll have opportunities you otherwise won't.

The thing about "saying goodbye to them" every other weekend, is that yes it hurts to start with, but you get used to it, and you even start to enjoy the time.

@mummyof2lou I'm sorry you're going through this too. Its absolute shit. I know being unhappy is a good enough reason to leave but it doesn't make it easy.

To everyone else I would look like an absolute Cunt if I left.

I think that's kind of ridiculous.

Who would think that? People who love you might not fully understand or agree with you splitting up, but they'd support you anyway, because they love you and want you to be happy. Other people don't really matter.

You can't live your life according to what you imagine people think of you.
