Why do I miss /still want the person who treated me awful?

And when I say awful I mean awful.
Manipulated me,lied to me,rang the police on me,made me feel like nothing.
Repeatedly hurt me.
Yet I miss him,it was only a short relationship.
Yet here I am missing him, questioning "was it me?"
Then he blocked me...yet he was the guilty one.
The one who was in the wrong.

These sorts tend to catch us up in intense whirlwinds. Our body gets used to getting its highs and lows from them. So when they are gone it can feel a bit like we've been thrown clear from the rollercoaster...but now we are up into the air freefalling and have no idea of when and where we will land.

The unknown is scary sometimes.

But the things is, once you get over this hurdle and your feet are firmly on the ground again, the fear will pass.

You know he wasnt a nice person. So don't kid yourself, even momentarily. You're off the rollercoaster now, so just give it time and you'll soon feel better. Well done for getting out!

I had a very similar experience with someone and I think the reason you feel this way is down to your self esteem. People who we fall for and love who then just treat you like crap make us feel worthless. I suspect that’s how you are feeling. But remember you are worth so much more than putting up with people who just never respect you.

Hard as it sounds but you have to move on - cut them out of your mind and life. Harsh but it works every time

This sounds like intermittent reinforcement. You get addicted to the crumbs that are occasionally offered to you.
