A man's opinion

This is a a strange one, my friend has decided to stop dating because she has

haemorrhoids.

In a nutshell she thinks men will not want to have sex with a woman if she has haemorrhoids (we're talking size of a grape here so they are not small according to her)

I told her I don't think that's true for the majority of men but she's adamant it's true for all men.

So this is for all the men on mumsnet...if you had started seeing a woman, would her having haemorrhoids be a turn off for you.

I know everyone will have an opinion but I'm just interested to see what majority of men on here think.

It's not a 'childbirth injury' though, and not all women who are pregnant develop piles.

Well, as a bloke, I don't recall ever asking a woman on a first date whether she had bum grapes or not, can't say it ever featured as a deal beaker. Having an 'outie' belly button on the other hand would be a problem, I always made sure a prospective date showed me her navel before we crossed the threshold of a restaurant.

bum grapes 🤣

OP hasn't returned so I'm now thinking perhaps this was a haemorrhoids troll. It really does take all sorts.

I would be put off by someone who had a treatable condition not going to the doctor (certainly in normal times), but not having the condition.

As for why there is the thought of some men being put off, I am reminded of something said to me many years ago 'the bum is an exit not an entrance' (or similar words).

@ JimmyJabs I've been called a lot of things but never a haemorrhoids troll, lol

She has spoken to her doctor on the phone as they aren't seeing patients at the moment unless it's something serious. She has been prescribed medication but they've not helped. She's rang a few times and her doctor has finally said they'll probably need to be removed but he can't refer her to hospital yet, which given current circumstances is understandable.

Fair enough! Perhaps she could shrink them a bit with Preparation H in the meantime.

wizzbangfizz · 06/10/2020 19:31

I have friends who won't let their partners go down due to this issue!

BubblyBarbara · 06/10/2020 20:00

I think it’s okay as long as she makes sure they’re clean when she is DTD because they tend to catch some of the outflow if you catch my drift
