What happened after?
What about any children you had? How were they affected?
What about access?
How were things before and after?

Mine was violent and I called the police during an attack, so police bail, court bail, non molestation order, conviction and a restraining order meant I left him. Sorry not very comparable. Afterwards he was a nightmare but the non mol stopped that. I have two children both teenagers, they were devastated but I got them counselling through Nest and over time we all formed a happy unit of 3 and we are happier than when he was here. He sees them once a week but my daughter often chooses not to, because of their age they arrange visits. I pretty well let him see them whenever but no overnight stays, no drinking around them and he doesn't come on my street. He agreed to all this early on. Before it was a miserable life, now happier worth leaving but not without challenges, it gets better with time.
Sorry not sure that is helpful but didn't want to read and run.

Seek help and plan. Work out money, tax credits etc, find place to live, enlist support where u can. Remember, just because you leave doesn't mean the abuse ends. It may escalate.
