How do I handle this? Covid family related.

I’m planning to go and see my parents tomorrow (70+) With my DH.
Plan was to sit in the garden.

I spoke to my mum and she tells me my brother, his wife and new baby (born about 10 weeks ago) are coming as I’ve not seen the baby yet.
Now I’m not hugely happy about this as I’ve been strict about the rules but I can’t stop them coming. I know both my parents have held the baby previously, which I don’t really agree with. I can’t have children so the baby is very special to me and wouldn’t want to put the baby or My parents at any unnecessary risk.

Anyway, I know I’m going to be put under pressure to hold the baby which under normal circumstances I would love to do but I don’t know what to do.
I don’t want to upset my Sil or brother as I really want to be part of the babies life nor do I want to put the baby at risk. They are only going so I can see the baby...

I really don’t know what to say or do... I know my dad thinks I’m crazy about sticking closely to the Covid rules and will be vocal if I say I’m not holding the baby.

What should I do?

Why would anyone be upset that someone wants to keep their tiny baby safe from possible infection?

I know the risk is tiny but surely they care enough about their child to not push the point, nothing bad ever happened because someone didn't hold a newborn.

They sound very immature, I'm thankful every day that my family isn't like any of the strange ones I read about on here

Just say you've been out and about this week and better safe than sorry. I'm sure they'd rather their baby be safe!
