SM different views

Hi all, apologies in advance for bringing up politics Blush

My partner and I have slightly different political views but it's never been too much of a problem because we're both open minded and don't blindly follow a particular party, we're both usually quite good at calling out bs even from our own 'side'.

However, recent events have shown up a few differences, especially on sm. He is posting a fair bit of stuff that is just showing bias rather than facts, some of it fake shit made up (not by him) to simply attack a party, which is starting to annoy me slightly. On top of this, his followers all have the same view as him, albeit a bit more extreme, so I'm constantly seeing memes and really highbrow stuff like pic of an MP with 'twat' underneath it Hmm.

I'm now starting to struggle a bit as he has a handful of friends that he is connected to due to a particular sport that I have no interest in and every time I go onto sm I see their biased posts and him agreeing with some of them and I'm starting to feel annoyed but also a bit jealous and left out. I guess it's making me wonder if we are just too different.

I now haven't been on sm for 2 days as it actually makes me feel sick when I think about what's being posted.

Am I being stupid?

Just unfollow him on social media. See if that sick feeling and jealousy goes away.

Only you can decide whether the political differences are too much. But politics isn't something that'll go away, it's in everything so can be brought up at any point. It's good to have healthy discussion on politics, it opens your eyes to other views even if you dont agree with them. If it just brings you down and turns into a fight, then it's an issue.
