I found out the reason for his one word replies

I posted about dating a man with one word replies. Turns out after we video called, he felt as I wasn’t as attractive anymore.

He basically was trying to cut me out.

Sounds like you dodged a bullet. You deserve (and can most certainly get) better!

Crystalspider · 02/06/2020 00:50

Silly delusional man, probably hoping for a his ideal of perfection to adore his scuffy looks and vulgar manners, he can dream on..
Don't let him get to you, the right man will make you feel like the most beautiful woman.

Lynda07 · 02/06/2020 01:36

Might have been better if he'd been a bit more upfront (tactfully), earlier on but at least you know where you are now and can move on.

You can't tell whether someone is really attractive to you without meeting them in real life.

category12 · 02/06/2020 07:30

One of those guys that gets his kicks putting the boot in.

You're well rid.

Ohnoherewego62 · 02/06/2020 07:50

Are you sure you weren't speaking to someone who was already attached?

Would make sense with one word chats and then finding a bullshit reason like your appearance to call it off.

MummyGoingItAlone · 02/06/2020 10:45

The guy who ghosted me had text this morning. I’ve told him I’m not interested in being so low down his priority order that he doesn’t respond for three days. He replied that it’s not just me, he ignores everyone, even his mum, then sent a screenshot of all his unread messages! My response, thanks but no thanks. If you can’t respond to your own mum then it’s a definite no go! What a weirdo? He’s always online on FB or WhatsApp too. We’ve both dodged a bullet there OP xx

So pleased you have found out what he's really like early on.
Imagine finding out what he was really like further down the line.
Be thankful for small mercies.

Deathraystare · 02/06/2020 11:26

Breathe a sigh of relief and move on.

alwaysanewlife · 02/06/2020 11:30

I had a guy do this to me. He asked for yet another photo and I declined.
He must have taken offence as after that it was one word replies. After a couple of those I deleted. I don't get why the one word reply though - if you are not interested just don't reply at all. I don't mind being ghosted by people I have never met. Just do that!

ThePlantsitter · 02/06/2020 11:35

What a twat.

Don't let it knock your confidence op - is anyone conversing with anyone who looks attractive on video calls? I'm certainly not. It's quite a leveller actually!

TwentyViginti · 02/06/2020 11:36
@Rubyred24 he looked like he had aged! His beard was scruffy and his clothes looked scruffy.

Never even gave it a thought.
Oh, one of those men. Think they're entitled to Beyonce when they look like Compo!

Lucky escape OP.

runningon · 02/06/2020 19:00

Agree, lucky escape.
Next!

SpiderStan · 02/06/2020 20:03

Wow, you dodged a bullet there! His attitude is shallow and in my opinion, that makes any person ugly inside and out, through and through, and right to the core.

Littlemix1 · 02/06/2020 20:18

Wow well lucky escape. Don't get the whole ghosting thing. Just think of your not interest just be adult enough to tell the other person.

ChangeOfName2020 · 02/06/2020 22:11

What a fucking knob.

I know it hurts now but honestly you will be so much better off without having this dickhead in your life.

@MummyGoingItAlone - I got ghosted too by a guy who sounds exactly like yours. Don't suppose his name began with M did it?

Yes, it does actually! MG are his initials
ChangeOfName2020 · 02/06/2020 22:23

That's uncanny...! My twat of a ghost didn't have a surname beginning with G though so can't be the same guy.

There's loads of 'em out there sadly, but if there's one thing I have learnt through dating it's that if something doesn't sit right with you it almost definitely isn't.

Always trust your gut instinct as it's rarely wrong.
