This forum is great for giving advice about wayward partners but dare I ask....what does your DH/DP do for you (not kids) that's nice? Appreciated? Sweet? Fun?

My dh does these practical, kind things but I miss the FUN. Does anyone, anyone enjoy fun? 🤔

Makes the morning tea, chops wood, lights the stove, remembers which bin to put out, does most of the heavy lifting with the dogs, waters the pots, peels spuds, will bring me a glass of wine in the evening.

I think it depends on what your idea of fun is Grin

We constantly take the pee out of each other, have tonnes of inside jokes but currently being 8 months preggers and in lockdown, I must admit fun has taken a back burner.

This will likely change when bub comes along but we before all of this we spent a lot of time together at weekends doing things. Nice meals out, cinema, pub lunches, day trips to the seaside, go see live music together etc but I do think having children changes all that.

I didn't know that men could do these things...

MrsMozartMkII · 21/04/2020 16:53

LiteraryType Definitely! Admittedly it's usually a bit of a piss take, but there's definitely (usually, not always...) general fun to be had and enjoyed. He's a silly old sod, and he's my rock.

Apropos of absolutely nothing yesterday, DH offered to buy me an electric toothbrush. Is that romantic? I said thanks but no thanks (and wondered to myself where his thoughts had been to get him to say it).

WhatHaveIFound · 21/04/2020 17:05

He arranged my potato waffles & beans into a flower pattern and delivered them to DD's bedroom where I was required to sit in on a one to one school lesson.

JustStayHome · 21/04/2020 21:40

He does do alot...

Probably more than me infact.

But the thing that always makes me laugh, is when his had a poo, he says
"Iv cleaned the toilet for you"

My response is always , "Erm thanks" 😂😬😂

Sorry to rain on the parade girls but flowers on the doorstep, mix tapes and Easter eggs don’t make up for Being a lying cheating wanker!

Ah well, only 5 months wasted eh? Another tosser for the heap!

@Squirrelfan not only did I marry one, I have also brought 2 of them up.

Ds1 is spectacular, he is 17, kind, caring, makes cups of tea, makes lunches and dinners, brings me chocolate when I am feeling miserable on my period (have endometriosis which is horrific at times) has used me to learn to plait hair just because he saw girls do it so easily and fancied a go! Went for a walk with me to the post box this morning just to keep me company.

Dh, does lovely foot massages, washes my hair whilst I am in the bath, puts on a conditioning treatment and then sets up the laptop on the toilet so I can relax in the bath and watch a movie whilst my hair softens. Leaves hand drawn hearts in the fridge for me to find. Sings ridiculous made up songs, does silly dances and just makes me laugh every day. He is just fun to be around. I do the same things for him too.

He is also an amazing hands on Dad, has a great relationship with our sons, makes food and is just a genuinely lovely chap. He is well loved at work, everyone speaks really highly of him.
