Lockdown with miserable OH

Anyone losing the will whilst being in lockdown with their miserable OH? Marriage hasn't been great for a long time and this is just exacerbating all the issues I have with him. He's just so damn miserable and can't play with our 4 yr old without some kind of moan or arguement. I want to scream and get out of the house but I can't!!

I'm feeling the same! I'm coping ok on my own with all this but he seems to resent me and quick to anger. Just grumpy most of the time. It brings you down. Glad he is still working some shifts as a key worker as I get some respite! Hope this doesn't go on for long.

Mine worked 7 days a week before this so I was used to being on my own. He was very stressed and I hoped this would bring the down time he needed and help reset things. Well it did for a week and now he just brings me down. He's not nasty and tries to help when he can but it always seems a chore and I know he would be much happier if he was on his own so he could sit and drink beer all day and watch shit tv. I wish I could ask him to live at his mums for a bit but I'm Nhs so need him for childcare

Mine too.Not been great for many years so both working opposite shifts worked well. Now stuck in here which has been good until this week
.I ate a one pound bag of choc over an few days and got told I f....ing pigged them!I am slim and eat little he is over weight.
Then he had a few sweary temper tantrums😥.
No escape to work for me.Plus I had to have my beloved cat put to sleep.
Neighbours must be heard him earlier in the garden.Cringy.

I’m struggling too. Using this time to save up so I can finally up and out of this shithole.

puds11 · 17/04/2020 18:35

Good luck @CakeItOrLeave. Life’s to short to waste with a wanker!

Misskg1982 · 17/04/2020 20:34

Yes @littlegirlost feeling exactly that. OH always seems grumpy or we're irritating him in some way. We have a three year old who he seems to constantly be telling off at the min for no reason. We argued about it the other night as I was just so fed up of the shouting. I'm getting to the point where I just cannot be bothered with his shit anymore. Thankfully his a key worker so is out of the house some days and evenings and we get to relax but this is no way to live. I feel ya pain 😤

Hey you know apparently people can stay with someone else for a few days now if they need a break. uk.news.yahoo.com/coronavirus-policing-guidance-lockdown-moving-households-175601503.html

Maybe you could send him off for a bit. Smile

Jamjar18 · 17/04/2020 21:44

My DH is a grumpy twat as well. Biting mine and the kids (step sons) heads off, whinging about everything. Moans when our 7 month old wakes at night or has a go at me in the middle of the night over it. Going to escape to my parents for a few days I think now gov guidance says we can. Neither are vulnerable and desperate to see their grandson.

littlegirlost · 18/04/2020 09:10

Oh that's interesting to hear! Will defo have a look to see about the other households thing. I'm going to take DS out for a nice scooter run today to get out for a bit and clear my head

You can definitely go stay somewhere else. It’s in the new guidelines. If you’re stopped while travelling just say you are escaping a difficult domestic situation. Hope all of you use this time to decide to get out of these shit relationships once lockdown is over.

Deathraystare · 18/04/2020 12:16

I bet these useless slobs will whine when back at work and asked how they coped will say it was alright, just a bit boring!

midlifecrash · 18/04/2020 13:15

I'm wondering if any of you live over the road from me.... there are 2 little girls there who play out in front of their house with parent watching most days. It is almost never him, and when it is he just stares at his phone and snaps at them when they try and engage him until they are cross and tearful. I leave my front room if he comes out because it really winds me up. Can't imagine how she feels
