Is this normal

It is normal for words in arguments to get so bad, he tells you that you're a nobody, a dog, a state?

Are these things you could personally move past and get over?

I'm strong headed no matter how he makes me feel

You are fine op, and you will be fine.

Your value is not set by him.

He's a nasty abusive bastard.

No, not normal at all and NOT ACCEPTABLE. He’s a dick.

DartmoorChef · 05/04/2020 16:03

Not normal. Hes an abusive bully. My ex husband was like this when he wasnt throwing his fists at me.

Everyone argues but what you describe is not arguing, it is being a vile nasty aresehole.

OP it is not normal in any way, shape or form AND it will only get worse. My ex was like this- we lived together for 3 years and he was emotionally abusive. He never physically hurt me but I was often frightened he would and he tried to make me feel it was my fault. Other people noticed and were worried- we went to a wedding with my parents and stayed in a hotel. As my parents were living the next morning my mum hugged me and said she didn’t want to leave me as the way he looked at/spoke to me was so full of hate that she was scared. He was an alcoholic and had many problems but none of that was apparent when we got together. It took me 3 years after we broke up to feel a bit like me again. He destroyed my identity and my self esteem. I don’t think I’ll ever be the person I was before him. Emotional abuse is real. Get out. Know you are loved and you deserve better.

*leaving. Not living!

He kept on at me all day yesterday to apologise...for what I don't know. Then when I wasn't budging he moved on to saying let's both accept 50/50 of the blame. Very childish. I ended up just agreeing last night for an easy life
