Ex won’t move on

Hi just looking for some advice. I broke up with my ex over a year ago, we did meet up once, a couple of months ago which was a huge mistake. He regularly texts and WhatsApps me and I very rarely respond and when I do it’s never encouraging a relationship etc. I’ve now blocked his number and want to email saying, basically it is over, please move on but for some reason I’m scared of doing it. I’m scared of his reaction. He’s never hurt me so I don’t know why I feel like this but I’m frightened of him. AIBU to just leave it alone and hope he takes the hint? For context, we were only together for about six months and it wasn’t particularly serious, we didn’t even meet families or anything

Block him, it’s not like in lockdown he can just turn up at your house. Block him and move on without a second thought.

Keep him blocked on everything. If he finds a new way to contact you, inform him that 'enough is enough, if you contact me again I will report you for harassment'. Then block him there too. You dont owe him any explanations, pleases or politeness. He knows you arent interested but keeps on. You are scared because you know a normal person would not do that.

If you don't want to tell him to tell him again it's over, then just block him on email is. Or if you want to re-iterate, email saying 'I have moved. Please do not contact me again'. and then block.

Keep texts and emails in case he becomes a nuisance so you can report to police.

Sorry you're going through, he is not owed a response so don't feel you need to.

Thank you for your replies and advice, and for reassuring me I’m not overreacting. I have blocked everything and not going to give him what he wants which is any sort of reaction from me I think
