Relationship issues

Hi. I wonder if you can give me your opinions on my situation please? I work part time, partner works full time earning a lot more than me. I do everything cooking, cleaning, washing. He never helps me with the children in the mornings. I get one lie in a week on the weekend. He thinks I should do everything as I work part time, I think he is wrong and at the weekend everything should be shared eg cooking cleaning putting a wash on. Who is right?

Thanks

I would be wondering why you are with him at all to be honest with you. What are you getting out of this relationship now?. You use the word partner re him so I presume you are not married. If that is the case as well your own position here legally is extremely poor and you are vulnerable. He knows that all too well and in you he has a ready made childcare assistant, cook, cleaner and bottle washer. Value yourself more and love your own self for a change.

This whole arrangement is geared entirely in his favour with you carrying the mental load. He has this just the way he wants it and such selfish men as well do not change.

What is the situation too re the property and finances?. Given his attitude I would think he does not share his income freely either and regards his money as "his".

He does share his money, so he's not all bad.

But he is not all good either. You are carrying the mental load here

Yes I think you're right. I've come to the conclusion he'll never change. I need to find a way of dealing with the situation as I can't face splitting up.

You could calculate based on hours. So he works , say 40 hours per week, you work 20. So on that basis, he should do 1/3 the household chores, help with the children etc, and you do 2/3......

Ariela. I like the sound of that
