Never know where is the right place to post this!

I have had the coil in for nearly a month now. So previously checked to see if it's in place and did feel the strings so everything was fine.

Iv had sex etc an I tried to feel the strings but can't feel them at all. Iv tried a few times now in the past few days an still can't feel them.

Does this mean there's a chance I could fall pregnant if the coil is no longer in place? What do I do ??? Thanks

It's possible that the strings have just moved up out of reach but you need to get it checked to make sure it's still sited correctly. Might be worth ringing your local sexual health clinic to see if they'd do a walk-in if it's going to be quicker than getting a GP appointment.

Also, have a chat with a pharmacist to see if you're still in the window for the morning after pill and use condoms until you've had the coil checked.

The strings may have moved up past your cervix, but it's unlikely that the coil will have moved from your uterus, so should still be protecting you. There's nowhere it can really go without perforating the uterine wall, which would have caused you pain and is very rare. You should go and tell your doctor though, and they'll have a feel for the strings and send you for an ultrasound if they can't feel them, to be safe.

I don't think you need to worry about repeatedly feeling the strings etc. Can't say I ever really felt mine. They're very reliable. Have fun. :)
