We agreed not to send photos of the kids to in-laws . FaceTime fine .

Long story but it was to do with how much sharing of kids photos was going on , despite repeated requests for them to keep photos to themselves .

In laws seem to have accounts set up and have recently messaged my OH saying that they have a ‘ password ‘ for our newborn .

That’s all I know . I know I’m going to sound like a total psycho for reading his message

Am I being paranoid or is my OH sharing photos behind my back ?

I tried asking him and don’t think he is sending pictures.

Still don’t know what this account and password is about .

What kind of account is it?

Toll2 · 04/01/2020 18:32

I don’t know . All I know is that she has her own password .

Just ask him. Say you've seen the message and want to know why other people are setting up accounts for your child and what it's an account for.

I think as her mother you have a right to know.

When you said they were sharing the pictures everywhere I thought you meant on Facebook with no privacy settings, not showing the hairdresser.

I'm guessing his family aren't in the UK? Are you in the same country as them?

SandyY2K · 04/01/2020 18:39

Are you saying you object to them showing pics of your DC to ppl they know?
If so, I'd say you're being too controlling.

If they were plastering the pictures all over social media, that's something else.

Toll2 · 04/01/2020 18:52

Oh social media too .

@toll2 have you asked him outright?

Toll2 · 04/01/2020 19:06

Yes

There are millions and millions of innocent pictures of children on line. Millions. Is it really such a big deal? I would assume your DP is secretly sharing pics, yes, because grandparents like to see pictures of their grandchildren! It's just a shame you're for ing him to do it in an secretive way

heartyrebel · 04/01/2020 19:45

The account could be for anything, an email, photo sharing website, maybe a place that prints photos. Youd have to ask

MissChananderlerbong · 04/01/2020 19:55

Im with mama on this, there are millions of photos online of kids.
To be very straight, why would someone use your photos for nefarious means when there's unfortunately other places they can go (dark web for one).
The chances of a photo of your child getting into the wrong hands is so unbelievably small. I never understand why people get so worked up about it.
My ex worked in cyber security and online policing too. And I'm still of this opinion

TitianaTitsling · 04/01/2020 21:20

Is it definitely photos? Could it be a junior ISA? So no one can have photos of your children? Are they allowed printed photos to have in their purse/home to display?

CooCooCoo · 04/01/2020 22:22

TBH your partner is not doing you any favours here, he’s making out to his parents you are in the wrong, belittling you, and now they slate your parents?

He’s not in your team, OP

CooCooCoo · 04/01/2020 22:27

I can understand from a point. My daughters photos were the same. She has a very early start. Months in NNU. Some of the photos were very intense tbh.

These were being taken to church, community centres, put on their Xmas cards (surely this is something mum does?) and Everyone knew my business .... people I had never met in my life.

It WILL get better. This is a novelty for them right now. The issues lies with the sneakiness of your DH and them. That’s way worse

Toll2 · 05/01/2020 01:52

Coo coo I’m so glad you get it . It WAS intense . My mil used to expect pictures everyday . She was also texting me several times a day asking me where I was and what I was doing . I was fine with it at first but then once she knew our time table she was inviting herself to everything.

The texts and punitive requests eventually felt like I was being stalked , ad worse still .. as you say , everyone had to know our business.
