Something special ?!

Me and my partner had the hardest year of our lives this year. I mentally struggled a lot after having 4 miscarriages, he looked out for me a lot and I honestly don't know how I would of got though this year without him. That being said I can imagine at times I wasn't the kindest to him, I struggled to show my emotions and would often lash out.

This last few months we have been the best we have ever been, we can't stop laughing and are enjoying each other's company again.

I want to do something special for him in the new year to show him how much I love him and how thankful I am for him? Any suggestions?

I can't go abroad on holiday because we are currently trying for a baby and I can't fly whilst on treatment.

I just don't know what else I could do?! Any ideas ? Has anyone don't any weekend breaks in the UK that was really special ?

Or does anyone have any ideas on what I could do?

Thank you x

I'd need to know a bit about your partner before I can suggest anything. What sort of things does he like doing? More info please Smile

In terms of uk weekend breaks we went to the new forest and it was lovely and romantic (but if he doesn't like horses then obviously don't do it!)

You could go somewhere abroad but by Eurostar so no flying involved?

Or so happy even....

@firstimemamma

He loves football, he loves London but we have been there so many times now.

We have a dog and he loves a good walk and stop off at the pub.

He works REALLY hard. We have renovated a house every year for the last 3 and he's done it practically on his own.

He's extremely fussy with food. He has always wanted to go Vegas but that's out of the question.

He loves abit of luxury and pretending he's rich but he's a proper cheap scape mind 😂😂 xxx

@Ohyesiam

Thank you, it's been really hard, some days still are but we defo have our spark back.

He's had me in stitches all over Christmas and now I feel bad I never treated him to something as we decided between us we wouldn't do Christmas presents as the fertility treatment has put so much financial pressure on us.

Now I just want to do something special, we promised in the new year we would start to " live again" so I thought me planning something would be a good start! xx

Come to Stamford and stay at The George. Beautiful affluent town, loads of shopping, Rutland Water and Fineshqde swoosh's both great for walks. Lots of eating and drinking.

chlo04 · 28/12/2019 16:06

@firstimemamma he can do horses :)

In fact he would probably really enjoy that! Loves animals. I'll have a look! Thank you!!

I did think about the Euro star!! I've never used it though, have you?

Does it take a long time or is it fairly quick? X

Can you use hot tubs? A cabin in the woods with a hot tub? Take the dogs for walks and chill?

BadEyeBri · 28/12/2019 16:08

If you could make it to Ireland then there is a lovely hotel called Rathmullan house in Donegal. It's old world charm but not break the bank expensive. The beach is at the bottom of the garden and you can take your dog. We go a few times a year. It's heaven.

Thanks for your reply op. We went to Paris when I was 5 and a half months pregnant and it was fine and I was comfortable. Only took a few hours, it's a very high speed service.

If he likes being fancy, maybe a romantic dinner at the sky garden? It's at the top of the walkie talkie building in London, lovely views at night. It's posh but worth it.

Good luck deciding! Thanks

I think I'd look for a dog friendly forest lodge or seaside cottage with a hot tub and log burner! Take all his favourite foods, plenty of wine, and go for some lovely pub walks.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!! I'm looking into it! Trying to sneak in, in conversation to see what he would prefer 😂😂 xx
