Is that a pick up line or could it be genuine? They proceeded to ask more details about me. First time I ever met them. They kept staring at my face like day dreaming iyswim.

Definitely a pick up line from someone with no imagination. They sound quite creepy.

It's a boring question isn't it. Do you know me from somewhere, don't you? If I thought we knew each other I'd pipe up at this point if I wanted to. I think most opening lines are so dull.

I wouldn't be flattered. I'd think 'if I had met you, clearly I'm fairly unmemorable - as you're not even sure if you DO know me'.

I think it's a fairly rude thing to say to someone actually.

Sounds creepy AF.

Why did you indulge that OP- how bizarre. You know its bs because you know they indeed do not know you from Adam.

It's just nonsense from someone who knows nothing about you who wants to make you feel theres something there regardless, because they suspect it'll work. I'd be as turned off as I was wary (which would be very).

Because without giving out too much the setting was professional it wasn't said in a club or a café i just found it odd the way he wouldn't just believe me it's like he still believed he knew me from somewhere hence the staring into my face. I have a good memory and he is very unique looks wise so i would definitely remember Grin
I don't feel flattered just found it bizarre and funny, my DH thinks it's a classic Joey pick up line Grin

I don't know why everyone is being so MN-typically freaked out by this. So, someone thought they knew you. I've been unsettled by feeling like I know someone but with no recollection of where or how or when. If I were to ask them if we had met before, I certainly hope they wouldn't be a freakishly weirded out by the question as MNers seem to be.
