Oh I can! AIBU?
Big deal Xmas treat, dh will take us to see Star Wars. Usually when we come out the cinema he is quick to say how rubbish film was. To me this pours cold water on he evening and doesn’t seem great for kids , 11 and 14.who like Star Wars. I said could he not do that this time. It seems to flatten everyone s enjoyment. Big row, I shouldn’t tell him how to talk to his kids ( ours) fair enough and ok, so I said, ‘well I don’t like it, would you mind not doing it this time, for me. He says he will say what he likes, he needs to be authentic, I’m not the expert. I said, well can you find something positive to say, or ask kids wh they think? Because I find it depressing. Oops, wrong thing to say! AIBU?
He is seeing a counsellor which is where I’m guessing he’s getting phrases like authentic. She seems to have a very low opinion of me, so second question, can I call her and ask her to stop having opinions about me without ever having met me? ( pretty sure I can’t)
3 d question, after we’ve stomped off our separate ways ( I’d apologised) he goes to pub to see chum. Texts me from pub all caring,’are kids ok? Did you get home ok etc. ‘
Can’t help wondering if that’s for benefit of mate. He never usually texts me.
Exhausted and confused.
