Changing parenting

Has anyone successfully changed their parenting and how? I am generally a good mum and certainly not a bad or abusive one but have read enough mumsnet to have come to the realisation that my empathy is perhaps sometimes inconsistent and I think my teenage daughter has some anxiety issues caused by my parenting. Is this changeable? And is it too late? I don't want my failings to affect her future relationships but I don't know how to fix it.

Sort of, read phillipa parry's book. The book you wished your parents read and your children will be please you did.
Is amazing book! Might help.
I took some things from the book which I have started doing. Mine are young though at 4 and 7

Always keep adapting, fine tuning, improving.......they are growing, changing environments and pressures and we know so much more ourselves through personal experience and general research......so we need to keep meeting their needs.

I have changed from an intense pushy hectic spreadsheet Mum (thought I was doing the best for my kids) - to a much more laid back parent - listening, soothing - creating a calm and peaceful home - putting their emotional stability and development front and centre. The rest will fall into place.

Thank you squaresandsquares. I will have a read. Thanks also gutterton although changing is easier said than done, I guess if I knew how to do that so easily I would. The problem is that I find it difficult. I will try though so thank you.
