Premarital assets post divorce

I met my wife in my late 50s when I had already retired and owned my own home for 30 years (mortgage paid for a number of years). We got married and have been together 8 years. She moved into my home and never contributed anything financially for food or bills etc.

We are now divorcing and I would like to know whether she could have a claim to my pension or house? She is not in a good financial position.

Thanks

In brief, yes.

See a solicitor for proper advice.

Thank you, I am planning to speak to a solicitor next week.

Some claim, although unlikely to be for half of all.
Of course all depends. Solicitor is the only way.

I know this is not related to your question but Were you aware that when you get married half of your wealth becomes your wife's and in the event of a divorce she could potentially get half of everything? She has done pritty well for herself getting to live with you rent and bills free for 8 years and potentially half your whole life's wealth.
