Just wondering whether anyone had any advice for me. I have 4 children and practically been a single parent for 15 years and at the start of the year I told my husband that it was over and I wanted to separate from him. He didn’t take this very well and asked to try again I did for about 3 days but just know it’s over but basically I’m stuck in a 3 bed house with him and kids and don’t really have a way to get out of this shambles. I would quite happily sell the house but there is no way that I can really downsize from a 3 bedroom house to anything smaller with 4 children (3 girls and a boy) i haven’t really spoken to a solicitor as don’t have a lot of spare cash but just wondering if anyone has any pearls of wisdom that they could tell me.... husband doesn’t earn fantastic money and I work in a school so again not a great deal of spare income. I’ve had such a miserable 15 years of being alone and would love to me someone who treats me well and Is interested in mine and my kids life.

So sorry to hear you are going through this OP. Firstly how old are your DC? In regard to housing would it make more sense for the time being for you are you DC to remain in the house and for your Husband to make a contribution to the bills whilst you both come to an amicable agreement on the house?

Does he have anywhere to stay while you formally separate?
