Has anyone ever successfully got back with an ex?

Ex-DP and I split up seven months ago. We see each other a couple of times a week still but nothing physical has happened since we broke up.

Now we've stripped out all the daily life crap, I've remembered all the things that made me fall in love with him to begin with and I really, really miss him. I've joined dating sites but as soon as I get a match with someone I've no interest in speaking to them.

So far ex-DP seems to be working on the issue that caused the split.

So... am I mad to be considering it?! Has anyone ever reconciled successfully?

Yes, but it didn't last. I think you could consider it.

No.

You are seeing him too often!
Why?
How do you move on when you are seeing him 3 times a week?

This is not a formula for detachment or independence.

Has he been dating anyone since you split? Have the problems been resolved between you both?

That all sounds very sweet, but if you get back together, all that "daily life crap" will return. Surely that's what relationships are about - not just dating, but living your daily life together. I suspect that seeing him a couple of times a week has simply made it like dating - sweet and romantic but nothing like normal life.

It will. And it is possible to hide parts of yourself three times a week, especially if you know the other person well enough to know exactly what it is you need to do/not do.

When you have all of that history with somebody, it's scary to make the final cut. But you believe that you're attached to them when really you're just returning to the person who made you feel emotions. It's natural apparently.
