Age gap x

Hi, just thinking what other people think of this. I know it's irrelevant and you should do what makes you happy but I'm just genuinely curious.
How would you feel about the age difference of a 20 year old girl with a 27 year old man? I know it's not a huge difference, but does it come across weird or unusual ? Thanks in advance

DP is 11 years older than me. I'm 35 and we've been together 10 years (ish). I think age gaps seem less obvious the older you get. And as I tell DP he might be older but we all know who the more mature one is! Grin

I think generally it depends on the people. With that kind of age gap it's entirely likely that maturity levels meet in the middle anyway.

Don’t call her a girl, or yourself a girl in fact, if she’s 20, it makes it sound weirder.
With regards to the actual question, I don’t think 20 and 27 is that big a gap, dependent on life stages and maturity.

I was seeing a 26 year old when I was 18, and it was fine. I was more mature than him really so it didn’t go anywhere much but it was a nice enough relationship, plenty of fun and we got on very well as people (still do when we bump into each other).
After that, and after a relationship with someone a little younger than me (abusive on his part), I started seeing a 34 year old when I was 21. Again, nice enough guy, lots of fun, sexy as hell and we got on like a house on fire. Can’t really remember now why it went wrong.
Anyway, my rambling point is, that regardless of the fact these relationships all went tits up, it was never down to the age gap. I think if you’re both adults, there’s no harm.

That's not too bad. If she was 17 and he was 24, then I'd have a problem, but because she's 20 and therefore an adult, I don't see an issue.

When my ex was 27, he was trying it on with a 17 year old, which is just disgustingly wrong in my books!

Sorry I meant girl just as in female I didn't mean for it to come across like that.
Thank you for your opinions. I think it's fine also, but I didn't know if I was just thinking that because of what I feel towards the guy. Might be what I need since half the people around my age still need their mum to wipe their arse for them. I'm really settled within myself and my life, good paying job, drive, live by myself in a little apartment so I think it could work. Who knows x

If you like him, go for it. It might work, might not, same as any other relationship.

Seems fine to me as long as both are in the same sort of place in life and looking for the same things out of a relationship. My dh was 21 when we met and I was turning 28. We had very similar values and wanted the same things out of life and a relationship. 11 years later, we’re married and have 2 dc and are very happy. The age gap has never been an issue (though I did used to feel jealous when he would get carded and the bouncer would just wave me on by Blush ).
