Hi Rhodes2017 Citizens Advice will give you a free half hour chat with someone from Pension Wise if you find you need it.

I was a pensions consultant for over 35 years (but not an actuary) and with a gap that wide, I'd get an actuary to look at it.

Thanks for that, it's the stumbling block at the moment I don’t really want to take the lower offer and he is obv keen for me to do so, so it’s about understanding how it will eventually get divided and what a realistic and fair figure for me to get .

You sacrificed your own pension so surely you get half?
I've no idea on the legal side though.
As others have said, get some legal advice.

You can get a short or a full report for an actuary . BTW you get your % of the full pension NOT just the bit since you got married. You will share the cost of the actuary . I would go for the short one if everything else is simple . It really is worth the money !

Hi thanks for that I’m in Scotland so I think I’m only due what I’ve been married which is annoying as I’ve been with him the whole time he had the pension but hey ho ... think I’m going to have to get the report done ... obv he isn’t agreeable to this .

Not under Scots law.
