We were at a family event two weeks ago. Just talking and SIL bought something up about what her DH did and how she's not happy about. My DH said SIL's being unfair and then I said something supportive to SIL. Then DH shouted at me in front of everyone!! It was so humiliating, there were kids, all my in laws. He kept shouting and I cried and left the room. He apologised after, but I can't seem to let it go. It's bothering me all the time. DH has a temper but this was another level. Am I overreacting? How can I let this go? I feel like I can't talk to my in laws although they haven't done anything wrong neither am I.

DH has a temper but this was another level.

So then you know his abuse is only going to get worse. Get rid before it does.

You are not over reacting AT ALL!
Everyone has arguments and disagreements but to shout at you like that, especially in front of anyone is disgusting. My ex did similar and due to my experience, it only gets worst :(

He has fractured everything you hold dear, he showed everyone what he thinks of you, your opinion and your marriage, not only that he did it in front of everyone you care about, he humiliated you, and nobody did a thing. What you are feeling is humiliation shock and disgust. I'd struggle to forgive too OP. Flowers

You don't let it go, you let him go. From your post it doesn't sound like you have DC together & I hope this is the case.
It sounds like he doesn't tolerate criticism of a husband - anyone's husband - by women. You don't want to stay with such an arsehole.

@BumbleBeee69 you just described how I feel. Married for 10 years and I have a good relationship with my in laws. Now I feel something's changed and don't know how to move on
