My husband has cheated on me for years. Affairs, Prostitutes, you name it, he’s done it. Thing is, if he leaves or I throw him out it means that I will not have enough money to survive on. I feel trapped, angry and hurt.

Ok, some practical stuff OP.

Do you own a house or rent ?

If older boys MH problems are so severe that he cannot work then he is entitled to Universal Credit as a sick person AND a PIP. If he isn't categorised as 'sick' then he is still entitled to UC as an unemployed person (317 a month).

You will also be entitled to something from UC towards your housing costs if you are either waiting for a house to be sold OR do not have sufficient income for the rent and housing costs.

The same for the younger son if he is over 18.. if under will still be able to claim PIP if health problems affect his day to day ability to care for himself or get around (mobility issues?).

CAB, local authority housing advice, are the people to see. They can help with all the above .
