Any way you tell if they've been on your phone?

So I fell asleep at 3 with phone next to me I wake up and my phone is right next to my boyfriend so would've had to jump over two bodies to get there and its unlocked. Clearly that means hes been on it? He keeps denying it. Is there a way to tell when ur passcode has been used or any other signs to show it?
I feel like Im going crazy!

Just change passcode

BIWI · 25/08/2019 08:53

The first thing I'd do is change your passcode, so he can't do it again.

But you have all the proof you need! He has been on it and he's gaslighting you by telling you he hasn't. Next he'll probably tell you that you were sleep walking, or dreaming, etc.

But do you have anything to hide? Or is he just checking up on you/suspicious of you?

sweetnsuga123 · 25/08/2019 08:54

Yeah i will but Im asking is there a way to see that he's been on it?

I have nothing to hide we have a great relationship he keeps denying it and acting like Im crazy? Even if I didnt lock it at 3 it wouldnt stay unlocked for 6 hours and move places?

If you haven't looked at WhatsApp yet ask a friend what time it shows you were last active?

SimplyBeBlythe · 25/08/2019 08:56

I did not think there is a ‘user history’ if that’s the sort of thing you mean. Why would he want to look at your phone?

MashedSpud · 25/08/2019 09:01

You can go to my activity on google which has a time stamped list of activity on your phone.

Does he suspect you of having an affair? Women are told on here to check their partners phone all the time if they suspect they are.

Fleetheart · 25/08/2019 09:08

@DDIJ, what is the app called?

Iseethesilverlining · 25/08/2019 09:10

If it’s an iPhone, you can go into settings/screen time and it will show you how long has been spent today on which apps.

beccarocksbaby · 25/08/2019 09:13

Maybe broach it in a different way? Ask him if he's worried about anything or if he feels insecure, or was he looking something up unrelated?

My husband will use my phone at night if he's left his downstairs for instance and he's an early riser.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 25/08/2019 09:21

on mine one of the buttons gives you the last apps used, so if you know you checked fb, whats app and instagram they would be the last three, I often use it just to get back to something as for me it's quicker than finding the app in the folder, I have all my apps tucked away as busy screens bug me.

if boyfriend went into anything else they would be in the wrong order, but that does rely on you remembering exactly what you did last.

We have had no trust issues or anything so no reason why he went on it.

OP posts:
CountFosco · 25/08/2019 09:34

If no trust issues then maybe his phone was out of power so he used yours to look something up. DH and I use each others phone the whole time.

dontgobaconmyheart · 25/08/2019 09:40

You could check the internet history browser? Also check and see recent tabs.

You can get apps that log failed login attempts and take a photo of whoever did it but it is a bit much if you have no real reason to be suspicious and have nothing to hide Confused. Change your password OP but it's think about why.it's bothering you so much. There doesn't appear to be any trust going on here...especially if he is lying too. I'd focus on working that out as a broader issue rather than focusing on the phone.

sweetnsuga123 · 25/08/2019 09:50

@CountFosco if he had a valid excuse thats fine but hes lied about even being on it and his phone wasnt out of power

OP posts:
sweetnsuga123 · 25/08/2019 09:51

@dontgobaconmyheart because its an invasion of privacy I dont go on his phone

crestar · 25/08/2019 10:07

If there are no problems with your relationship and he has no reason to suspect that you are up to 'no good' then maybe he just used it because he couldn't be bothered to go and find his own?

beccarocksbaby · 25/08/2019 10:56

Are you presuming there are no issues or have you asked him? He might have issues you don't know about and while that is his responsibility to bring up this seems like a good a time as any

starflake · 25/08/2019 10:58

I know you could get an app that takes a photo every time your password is put in to your phone, so whoever opens it has a selfie taken, it's done securely so they don't know & saves to a secret file. Read about it a few years ago but not sure if they are still around
