Leaving emotional abuse marriages - success stories?

I have come to realise over the last year that my husband wasn't just grumpy, but he is actually emotionally abusive... I really cant take any more of it and he's been shouting at me this morning about divorce... I'm secretly happy but at the same time I am so fricking scared and think Im just blowing it all out of proportion. Does anyone have any experience of emotionally abusive relationships?

Mine wouldn’t speak to me for a year before I left him. 3 years on, all is good but he’s still very angry and spiteful on the rare occasions I need to deal with him. Over time the whole story behind his behaviour came out. Get away and start being you again.

I left my emotionally abusive husband 8 years ago. it's the best thing I ever did.

I'm now married to a wonderful man and finally feel like I can be myself. Life is too short to stay in a relationship like this.

Im so scared about money! I have a lot of debt... Not all him, but mainly him, and guess what, all in my name!! He said the last time it was like this that he would never see me and the DC again. Not sure why my heart broke over that. I have GAD and depression so I am so scared of change

Also I'm disabled and even my doctor said I have too many health conditions for a girl of 34. He's thrown that in my face this morning.

Him not seeing you and the DC ever again is a good thing. Let him go.

He'll still have to pay maintenance and you'll be entitled to certain benefits.

A man who mocks disabilities is no man at all.

Walk away OP. You deserve so much more, and so do your childrenThanks
