My 19 year old daughter is always saying she is I'll, just that really, we know half the time she has had a temp, bit sick ect but she is constantly bringing up new ailments, blood in poo, blood in wee, constant pains in every limb, she is in fact a healthy 19 year old, she is young for her age and dropped out of A level because of stress.
I'm at a loss what to do now because whenever I say, come on darling, what do you want to do,she just reverts to I'm I'll,I'm poorly, she seems to be avoiding life by "being ill" I want to help her, any advice?

Has she been to the doctor to get these ailments checked out? Blood in poo/ wee sounds quite serious if it’s true and if it’s not true then it sounds like serious health anxiety. Either way it sounds like something she should be discussing with her GP.

Thank you for replying, I have just said to her now you need to go and see the doctor, I even said I will book it, she said "I'm nineen" basically keep out. I'm so upset

My 17 year old was like this for months, everything ached, constant sore throats, headaches, limb aches, etc etc After A LOT of visits to the GP and being fobbed off, they tested her for glandular fever which came back negative, they retested and again it came back negative. They then started testing for the serious stuff such as lymphoma and leukaemia. Thankfully whilst testing for these they ran a virus check on her bloods and they decided it was in fact glandular fever after all. I know it may not be that for your daughter but just thought I'd flag it up as her symptoms were also quite varied and changed daily. If you can get her to go to her GP be firm with them as I found we really had to push at first to get them to take it seriously, all he kept saying was 'well....she's a teenager'al! Anyway I hope you get to the bottom of it quickly

If she has stress or anxiety/depression she really needs to go and see a doctor ASAP and get it sorted. My sister was very much like this. Didn't finish a levels, never held down a full time job, never qualified in anything, because she's anxious/depressed/stressed yet won't go to the doctors. She's now 28 and lives in a camper van and has no job, no income, no prospects. Don't let this happen to your teenager.

Don't engage with her when she mentions it other than to reiterate that she needs to see the GP

Think she needs to see the gp and get checked. Anxiety can cause all kind of symptoms aswell. If no physical causes are found she may benefit from some therapy.
