I'm counting down the years until i can leave my partner and never have to see him again.
Dd is 12 and i want to leave when she's 18. Either leave or end myself.
It's been this way for years and I'm feeling tired.
From the outside I have a charmed life so I cannot moan to anyone.
Inside i am dying.
Just done a universal credit calculation and I'd get 200 pcm. Along with my 900 pm wages, i cannot support my dd on that. Rent here is 875pcm.
Anyone else trapped and sick of it?

Yes. But by ill health and disability rather than money. If I wasn’t so sick I'd leave. The idea of leaving feels surreal and unobtainable but I can't imagine a future where we're happy together.

That doesn’t sound right if that’s your salary. Is there a housing benefit amount for rent included in that? Is there any way for you to earn more? Another 6 years will cripple you, you can get out now. It’ll be tough but there’s always a way.

Hiddenaspie1973 · 26/05/2019 09:52

Oh I'm sorry to hear that, LOST.

Surely you'll get child maintenance if you leave when your child is 12? Housing benefit.

SavageBeauty73 · 26/05/2019 09:54

You'll get more in working tax credits too. Look at entitled to

Hiddenaspie1973 · 26/05/2019 09:57

It's all U.C here. Tac credits are not an option.

Where did you get that figure? That doesn't sound right to me.

EnjoyItAll · 26/05/2019 10:03

Are you calculating it based on her age now? It doesn’t sound right at all if you are. Try entitled to if your using a different one as it’s pretty accurate

Ninkaninus · 26/05/2019 10:03

That U.C. figure isn’t right at all.

Lost11235 · 26/05/2019 11:00

Thanks HiddenAspie. I'm sorry you feel trapped. I don't know anything about universal credits, but I hope the other posters are right and there's more funding available then you thought.
