I've had to come in here for a rant!! Partners 17yr old is soooo lazy, he's got an apprenticeship which involves college every two weeks , so far only managed to attend three in 5 months , 'head ache' 'sickness' 'the craps' noticed recently having the odd day off here and there with a feeble excuse from work. Woke up this morning with D&V , but I'm sure hel be out later with mates , Knows how to play his dad, and I think he (partner ) just wants an easy life! But what's that teaching him....This is where we differ hugely, my kids are get up and go , if they want it they earn it, his has always been given on a plate. I can't say anything because it's none of my business but kids are crying out for apprenticeships and this lazy bugger don't give a toss. I'm going to have to bite my tongue on this ... grrrrr

I’m surprised college haven’t kicked him out if he goes so rarely?

You’re right, you can’t do anything about it. He’s his parents responsibility and if he throws this opportunity down the toilet and fucks up his future that’s on him and his spineless dad. Concentrate on your children and just ignore his laziness unless it affects you.

@AnneLovesGilbert you know when you really want to say something, but can't.... my partner needs to have one at him , I would. I'm slightly hoping he does get kicked out and see how 'easy' it is to find another one! Long term I guess it will effect me , we've been together 2 years , we can't live together because of room for the kids. I've tried to indirectly talk to him about work, 'dont do anything just sit there' I said to ask if you can do more , just get grunted at , 'yeah I will' like fuck will he. Your right tho I shall push mine forward and he isn't my problem x

Do you really want to be with a fella who can't parent his own child? It's not very attractive is it. I can't imagine his son moving out any time soon. So you're going to be waiting a longggg time for you to move in together.

@LordNibbler difficult one to answer when you happy in every other way and I do like his son he's just a lazy git. I just have to roll with it I guess, he does parent differently from me maybe that's because there is no mum on the scene who knows .... for now I'm happy not to pick his pants up off the bathroom floor and what will be will be, I dropped into conversation last night about 'they won't put up with it' he said what can I do , I said have one he's got to pull his finger out his arse ... the joys
