Wtf?! NC sister issues and money

I'm NC with most of my family but in contact with my mum and we are close. She's just told me that some money (£500) she gave my sister to look after for her (in her home safe) has been put into an isa in my sister's name. The money can't be accessed for 30 days so if mum needs it for anything she's screwed. I'm so angry that she's betrayed mum's trust like that and not even discussed it. Mum is nearly 80 but no dementia and fully independent. She didn't want it in the bank as was worried she'd get less pension credits if they knew she had any savings. I know it's up to mum to sort out but I just wanted to rant. How ducking dare she take advantage like that. She's borrowed from it too the cheeky sod.

Rant away but you are right, this is on you mum to sort out.

If it’s 30 days notice, then she should either tell her to give £500 now then the isa is hers, or give it back in 30 days.

I am NC with my mum but my brothers maintain it. It is a strain for them and their families, but it is not for me to tell them how to run their relationship with her.

My mum is really soft so hasn't said anything. She asked the other day for some of the money and my sister obviously couldn't give it to her.
Doesn't this class as financial abuse?

Has your mum actually checked the info regarding how much savings affect pension credits?
Just that you can have up to £16k in savings without your benefits being affected if you're on JSA, i can't see having £500 in savings affecting her pension credit.
