Flirting with mechanic... quick adduce needed!

Just popped into local mechanics for new wiper blades and light- they fit them for free if you buy them there.
Totally fancied the mechanic that helped me and during course of sale/fitting we chatted/flirted away- not like me at all!!! He dropped into convo that he’s usually based in a branch about an hour away but was covering this branch as a favour. So he’s only there today...
Should I go back and subtly give him my number and ask him out for a drink? Or is that too cringe??
I get that everyone should be able to go to work without being harrassed by ogling public eyes... but he’s a quite quiet, down to earth not up himself sort so doubt he flirts with everyone (hope not!).... please give me some advice!!

@thecatneuterer and some women like being wolf whistled at, it doesn't make it OK.

Katgurl · 29/01/2019 15:33

I love being wolf whistled at. Is that relevant?

Op can't believe you're making us wait two weeks. How selfish!

Florries · 29/01/2019 15:50

Did you get his name at all op? Or ring the branch he was working at with your wiper blades and ask for his name then Facebook search?

Bhodijazz1 · 29/01/2019 15:59

Haven't read all this thread but ......
I married my mechanic, so I'd say go for it! Wink

Scoleah · 29/01/2019 16:05

I Married my mechanic too! @Bhodijazz1 it was the Oily overalls that did it for me, and the free Car repairs lol Grin

Not long till Valentine's Day. If you find out his name/branch you could send a card with an (in)appropriate windscreen wiper line and your phone number. Maybe.

Lulumush · 29/01/2019 19:35

@pinkdelight give us an example of an inappropriate windscreen wiper line!!!

ChubRubTheStruggleIsReal · 29/01/2019 20:05

Yes please to inappropriate car related euphemisms!

I know, 2 weeks is agessssssss. It sucks but I work in the opposite direction and have no opportunity to go there before then.
Maybe it’s not meant to be... but I will def venture in when I’m nearby.
Love all the stories of other mumsnetters marrying their mechanics! And really appreciative of your support!!

Um... something about squirting his screenwash? Or your wiper blades fit perfectly, I bet your cock will too... bit much that one perhaps.

Or more romantically - you fixed my wipers, now fix my broken heart. Aw.

Any update?!

LeadMeToTheChocolate · 16/02/2019 22:01

He wasn’t there.... huuuuuuuuuge anticlimax.
Sorry for getting your hopes up.
Anyone want to set me up with a hunky, financially stable bloke with own house and car plus gosh??!

RugbyRugby · 16/02/2019 22:14

You are completely quackers.

RugbyRugby · 16/02/2019 22:15
  • sorry wrong thread!
Scott72 · 16/02/2019 22:26

"No. He's at work! It's not ok."

If genders were reversed, it wouldn't be ok. But its probably ok in this situation.
