Divorce, getting finances legally documented without Form E, is it possible? (Title changed by MNHQ)

I'm getting divorced. Solicitor has said about completing Form E to get a consent order so it's all legal. H and I agree on terms. Problem is I've been told it will cost 2-3k and neither of us have this. I won't be able to save enough and if I put it on a credit card it will reduce the amount I can get a mortgage for which will mean I can't afford to take it over and pay H what we have agreed.

Is there a cheaper way to get something in writing that can be signed by the courts?

That should be WITHOUT Form E.

If you're both in agreement then you can just get a consent order drawn up. That gets submitted along with basic details of both your finances. If it looks vastly unfair, the judge might query it. If you both have solicitors the judge often just rubber stamps it. That's what we did.

If I remember correctly, you don't have the same comeback if you find the other person lied as you would if you did a Form E.

Divorceonline.com. If you both agree they will drew up your consent order from a very detailed form that you have to fill in.

When it's complete, you both sign it with witnesses, pay the court fee and submit it to the court. I used them last year, service was quick and the court accepted the consent order. Total cost £350

Just to add, neither of us had a solicitor, we just used the online one to draw it up.

It might have seemed unfair but it was rubber stamped with no problems.

Thanks that's really helpful.
