Is this sexual assault?

So as not to drip feed

In a refuge after escaping from an abusive partner
Physical and mental abuse.

When we were together and I wasn't up for sex with him, he would sulk, accuse me of cheating and generally pester me until I gave in.
To the point he would get really angry tell me I didn't love him and literally put pressure on.

I sat in on one of the other girls interviews today and suddenly all hit me.

I am however confused as to whether this counts as sexual abuse or not?

Abuse maybe, as he guilt tripped you. I'd say not rape though as you did agree to, only reluctantly

It's called sexual coercion.
I'm so sorry you've gone through this.
And very pleased you are now away from him.
Get all the help you can from the organisations you are in touch with.
Well done one escaping.

Sex should be consensual. He knew it wasn't, he'd bullied and threatened you into it, which is sexual abuse.

I'm sorry you've had to go through this, but glad you are now in a safe place where you can get support. Take the time to heal, and talk things through with a support worker/counsellor - this is sadly very common. Wishing you strength Flowers.

So am I right in updating my police statements to add this in as well?

I think it's a grey area between emotional abuse and sexual abuse.
If you slept with him because he threatened to hurt you or your children then that's rape as you are not consenting. Likewise if he forced you to drink or take drugs and then had sex with you as you did not have the ability to consent- but the law is very murky.

Well done for leaving @thelaststraw123

I would let the police know, they may want to add it to your statement as it is abuse and adds to the general information they have.
