Where can you get support through domestic abuse fall out?

My colleague is separating from her partner who has abused her. He was reported to the police over his attack on her and now the cps are prosecuting.
Where would be a good place for her to get sensible advice and support?

I'm very worried about her as, although they don't live together, he's a violent man. I know that the separation period is often the most dangerous time.
She appears to be underplaying the possible risk to her - despite the fact he blames her for everything wrong in his life and has form for angry outbursts.

Who would you suggest is best for her to turn to for support through this period? She needs advice from experienced and wise people.
Thank you

Victim Support
DV Helpline
Women's Aid

All can be googled

OP you sound like a caring colleague.

Do you know if she had been taken through a DASH risk checklist?

Look at Women’s Aid website and Rights of Women Rights of Women website .

Does she have a non molestation order in place?

She should look at doing the Freedom Program

I sent her the link to the Freedom Programme - thanks to Mumsnet. I just want her to be able to talk to someone who understands this tricky area and can give grounded and practical advice.

Womens Aid
And if the police are involved they can assign her a DV support worker as well.

There was a local service through my council that I used.

They were brilliant, always at the end of the phone, they gave me a panic alarm and fitted a chain on my front door and things like that and helped me get a non mol order.

My doctor got me a referral to them, get your friend to see if there is anything similar where you are.

Thank you. This grounded advice is perfect.
