I was kicked in the stomach and back as a child. I’m suddenly panicking that this could affect fertility?

I don’t know why this is suddenly worrying me. I have periods. Not trying to get pregnant.

But I keep worrying about this to the point that it’s keeping me awake now in the night. Could it have that affect on fertility? Am I being irrational?

Oh bless you. I very strongly doubt it would affect anything - you could check with your GP for reassurance but hand on heart I'd say it wouldn't affect your fertility at all.

The pelvis is very good at protecting the female reproductive organs (excluding later stages of pregnancy).

Ahhh op. I'm so sorry to hear that. That's heartbreaking.

Please do speak to your gp. Try to remember that the body has an amazing ability of healing itself.

Good luck. Hugs to you. Xx

That's awful what happened but I assure you your fertility was not affected.

Oh love. Go to your gp, I agree. Ask for scans to check for damage. One of main reasons for not slapping girls way back was the problems it could cause. Do check and put your mind at rest.

I hope you are happy now

Thanks for the nice posts. It is in the back of my mind and suddenly come to the forefront for some reason. It is reassuring to read these. Bit scared to ask a doctor.

I'm really sorry that happened to you OP Flowers.

The pelvis is very good at protective your reproductive organs, and the uterus and ovaries are tiny in their non-pregnant state, so it's very unlikely that any damage was done.

Ok thank you. I’m not sure why I am suddenly worried, I’m not trying to get pregnant and it was years ago now.

Thanks for the responses

I think in order to affect your fertility the kicking would have had to cause serious internal injuries - the kind that would require surgery and hospital admission. I hope you were not as badly hurt as that. Flowers

I would be surprised if you had fertility problems relating to this but get checked by the doctor if you want to ease your worries.
